The next morning, we start our drive from Fort Kochi toward the lush plantation resort at Munnar, crossing the scenic lowland forests of Neriamangalam along the way. Upon reaching Munnar, you’ll be greeted by the rolling tea plantations and mist-covered hills. The following day, ride to the famous Top Station, a vantage point offering sweeping views of the Western Ghats, while immersing yourself in the tranquil beauty of Munnar’s tea estates.

From Munnar, we set off to the wilderness of Thekkady, where a boating safari at Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary allows you to spot elephants, exotic birds, and other wildlife. A visit to a local spice plantation follows, giving you insight into Kerala’s rich spice heritage.

Next, we head to Alleppey, the heart of Kerala’s backwaters, driving through vast rubber estates and charming agrarian villages. Day 1: Arrival at Fort Kochi and Sightseeing

Your journey begins in the historic town of Fort Kochi, where our guide will meet you near the iconic St. Francis Church. After a warm welcome and a briefing on the Kerala Tuk Tuk Tour, you’ll get a hands-on driving lesson and a familiarisation ride in your tuk-tuk. If you’ve ever driven a scooter, you’ll pick it up quickly! Once you're comfortable with the tuk-tuk, we’ll set off in the afternoon to explore the colonial charm of Fort Kochi. Discover the rich cultural blend as we walk through Jew Town, browse the local flea market, and watch the iconic Chinese fishing nets at sunset. In the evening, enjoy a captivating Kathakali performance. You'll spend the night at the beautifully restored Dutch Bungalow, a heritage stay that perfectly reflects Kochi’s colonial past.
Day 2: Drive to Munnar

After a final practice session, it’s time to truly hit the road! Guided by our team, you'll drive your tuk-tuk through the outskirts of Kochi into the peaceful countryside. Cruising along flat backroads beside irrigation canals, you’ll pass vibrant plantations of rubber, pepper, nutmeg, bananas, and pineapples. Our journey takes us to Thattekkad, home to the renowned Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary—a haven for bird lovers. Nestled along the Periyar River, this lowland forest teems with both endemic and migratory birdlife. After a relaxed lunch en route, we’ll explore the sanctuary and stroll through nearby plantations, meeting local cultivators along the way. In the afternoon, we continue driving toward the offbeat beauty of Kallar Valley. The scenic route winds through hilly terrain, village roads, and patches of rainforest, with glimpses of small waterfalls, streams, and macaques along the way. By evening, we’ll arrive at Elephant Passage, a peaceful farm resort surrounded by nature. Unwind with a gentle plantation walk as the day ends in the lush embrace of the valley.
Day 3: Explore the Misty Hills of Munnar

Rise early for an exciting drive into the high-altitude hills of Munnar, known for its rolling tea plantations and misty mountain views. The scenic route winds through undulating terrain and emerald-green tea estates, offering picture-perfect glimpses of Kerala’s highlands. Upon arrival, we’ll park the tuk-tuks and hop into jeeps for an off-road ride to the trek’s starting point. After clearing forest permissions at the checkpoint, we begin our trek to the Meesapulimala Base Camp. From there, the trail leads us through stunning Shola forests, bubbling streams, and the flower-filled meadows of Rhodo Valley. As we ascend toward Meesapulimala, South India’s second-highest peak, expect panoramic views, cool mountain breezes, and encounters with unique flora and fauna—rhododendron trees, pine groves, butterflies, and perhaps even the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. With clouds below your feet and golden sunlight above, the summit offers a truly magical experience. After soaking in the views, we descend back to the base camp where a warm dinner and a cozy evening await. You’ll spend the night once again at Elephant Passage.
Day 4: Drive to Thekkady

This morning, we drive on through the lush tea-covered hills of Suryanelli, navigating a scenic route of winding roads and gentle slopes. Along the way, we’ll pass the serene Anaerangal Lake, nestled between rolling hills and known as a vital water source for local wildlife—especially elephant herds. The journey continues through the spice-rich Shantanpara forest roads, where you’ll witness dense cardamom plantations interspersed with pepper vines, coffee shrubs, and tea gardens. The cool, misty air here nourishes Kerala’s famed spices and adds an earthy aroma to the drive. By afternoon, we arrive in Thekkady, home to the renowned Periyar National Park. A boat safari through the tranquil Periyar Lake offers the chance to spot elephants, deer, birdlife, and—if lucky—the elusive Bengal Tiger. With over 260 bird species and rich biodiversity, it’s a memorable encounter with the wild heart of the Western Ghats. In the evening, unwind at Cardamom County, a comfortable stay surrounded by nature. Day 5: Drive to Alleppey

Today, we begin our descent from the Western Ghats, driving through a breathtaking stretch of rolling hills, cardamom forests, and endless tea plantations. The scenic route winds through the small towns of Vandiperiyar and Elapara, gradually leading us from the misty highlands to the midlands of Kerala. Passing through the rubber-rich regions of Pala and the agrarian village of Erattupetta, you’ll drive alongside valleys dotted with spice farms, pineapple plantations, and glimpses of everyday life—tiny temples, quaint churches, and bustling village squares. Eventually, the landscape opens into Kerala’s lush backwater country. The final leg of the drive takes you past green paddy fields, fish and duck farms, coconut groves, and serene canals, ending at the tranquil village of Champakulam on the banks of Vembanad Lake. In the afternoon, take to the waters on a kayaking adventure through narrow canals and wetlands. Glide past sleepy islands and vibrant village scenes—toddy tappers scaling coconut trees, fishermen harvesting clams, children heading to school, and flocks of ducks paddling through the still waters. Keep an eye out for kingfishers, egrets, and cormorants along the way. Spend the night at the serene Lake Canopy, with the gentle sounds of the backwaters all around.
Day 6 : Morning Kayaking and Drive to Marari

As we bid farewell to the backwaters, we begin the day with a visit to the ancient Mannarasala Snake Temple, a unique and sacred grove where the serpent god Nagaraja is worshipped. Steeped in legend and mysticism, this temple is deeply rooted in Kerala’s spiritual and cultural heritage. From here, we drive toward the coast, passing lush paddy fields, coconut lagoons, and arched bridges that span the quiet backwater canals. Along the way, we stop at a traditional coir factory to see how the humble coconut transforms into a variety of eco-friendly products. The coir industry—once a cornerstone of village life—offers a fascinating glimpse into Kerala’s sustainable craftsmanship and its people’s ingenuity. Our journey ends at the serene Marari Beach, where you'll settle into the peaceful Marari Beach Resort, just steps from the sea. Spend the afternoon at your own pace—relax on the beach, stroll through a nearby fishermen’s village, or watch the coastal life unfold. Later, engage in a soulful yoga session by the beach or experience Kerala’s traditional martial art with a Kalaripayattu workshop at a local Kalari school. After breakfast, we will start our drive toward the colonial city of Fort Kochi. The road will be mostly flat throughout with a view of the Arabian Sea. You will be riding along the Fishing Harbour of Andhakaranazhi through coconut groves, patches of wetlands and coastal villages of Chellanam and Ezhupunna to arrive back at Fort Kochi. It’s time, we leave our Tuk Tuks to say Adieu, with fond memories of the Kerala Tuk Tuk Adventure drive.
