Upon arrival in Mahabalipuram, we have a beautiful stay on the shores of Bay of Bengal. Mahabalipuram, is famous for its ancient rock-cut temples, intricate stone carvings and UNESCO World Heritage sites. The Pallava dynasty, which ruled this area between 6th and 9th centuries CE, created these majestic edifices. In the afternoon, we will visit these Heritage sites, starting with the iconic Shore Temple, renowned for its rock-cut architecture and seaside location.
Pondicherry to tarangampady

Day 2: Cycling to Pondicherry

Detailed: The route will be a 60-kilometer journey to the villages by the coast and serene waters and a ride along the salt producing region. After this energised ride towards Pondicherry, will check in to hotel, barely 50 metres from the cool breezes and gentle rumblings of the Bay of Bengal. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the charming French Quarters of Pondicherry; an area famed for colonial architecture, cozy cafes and busy streets. Another place to visit is Auroville – it was established as a universal township where people live together regardless of their nationality; it has peaceful atmosphere and famous Matrimandir.

The flat backroads make for a pleasant and scenic journey, giving you a glimpse of the tranquil countryside and daily village life. After the ride, we will take you to a serene and comfortable hotel where you can relax. In the afternoon, you’ll have the golden chance to witness the process of silk saree weaving, a traditional craft of the region.
